2006

Words to describe the 2006 season are hard to find.  With Blake firmly rooted in North Carolina, Joe needed to decide what to do with the asphalt late model.  There were inquiries from those who wanted to drive the #14; several who wanted to drive the car but not work on it and a couple that were not quite ready to make the transition to asphalt.

Putting a driver in the car came close but never materialized due to choices made by Joe and that were no reflection on the potential driver's ability or commitment.  As a result, a driver was never put in the seat to race.

We had a lot of fun hanging out at the shop though and hosting our team party in April.  The BBQ was fantastic and Jon Wolfe and band made it a great event!

At the end of May the team moved out of the shop and placed everything, including the car in storage.

In August, Joe decided the "juice was not worth the squeeze" and sold the car.

It was a bitter sweet day when the new owner picked it up but it was time to re-focus on something that would bring back the enjoyment of racing.  It was a season of change for a lot of people.

The team expanded sponsorship of dirt track cars; sponsoring Jeff Reynolds in his IMCA Sport Mod then picking up Nathan Sodek in his Hobby Stock.

Chris Ragle established a motorsports marketing company based in North Carolina that is teaming up with Texas Star Racing to handle all of our marketing partner agreements beginning with the 2007 season.  The team is thrilled that Chris is staying involved in racing and that he is in a position to help our team grow.

This has been a year of transition for our team.  Sometimes change is good and will give us a fresh beginning with a new slate of quality dirt track drivers to sponsor and a new beginning in asphalt racing.
